Firstly something that is probably more appropriate for the office dress code these days. The navy jacket here is dressed down with our ice washed chambray denim shirt and grey flannels. Still an air of formality but as easy to wear in the office as it is after work for drinks with friends. We have chosen not to add a pocket square to keep it relaxed, note a brown loafer or even sleek trainer would equally work well with this look!
Next a slightly more formal option but still not quite a full suit. Swap the denim for a crisp white shirt, add a tonal navy tie and just like that it’s perfect for meetings or those slightly more dressier occasions where an open shirt just won’t cut it. This look would work equally well with a light blue shirt or any number of tie combinations. We have also added a white pocket square to give a touch of elegance and sophistication to the look.
Lastly, we’ve chosen to keep the tie but just add a piece of knitwear. Here, our sleeveless merino gilet adds a layer or warmth for the early morning commute. Also note the change from black leather loafer to brown suede in order to compliment the brown tone of the gilet. Inevitably, a long day at work means the jacket is likely to spend more time on the back of the chair than it is on the body. By adding this sleek piece of knitwear the look retains its sense of formality as well as function.
